Hourly rates apply to all labor, and travel, administrative time and includes trouble-shooting, engine swapping, sea trials and everything in between.
DETAILS
All materials, parts and taxes are additional to labor and must be paid for in advance of scheduled appointment.
- Engine waste is $15 per boat and priced individually for larger vessels.
- Consumable Supplies are billed at $5/hr of labor and include paper towels, diapers, zip ties, garbage bags, disposable masks, etc.
TUNE UP - ENGINE OIL & FILTER CHANGES:
All fees listed below are accurate estimates and are dependent on specifics of each engine, it's parts accessibility and idiosyncrasies which may increase the estimated pricing. Priced per engine. Includes: oil and filter change, recycling of oil, checking and inspecting engine belts, general engine survey & recommendations, Q&A about your engine, and an oil test (if requested is an additional charge).
Diesel Engine
Change engine and transmission oils, oil and fuel filters, water pump and general inspection of engine mounts, shaft, stuffing box, thru-hulls, zinc replacement on heat exchanger, and replace belt at client’s request.
Consumable supplies are $5/hr. Labor pricing includes prep, administration, travel and service.

Outboard Gas Engine
Includes replacing oil, zincs, grease fittings, remove and clean inside propeller and shaft, grease shaft, and replace pins. Can only be serviced out of water. (Large engines may have additional charge).

Vessel Management:
Priced individually and is the most economical choice. Monthly charge for checking your boat - from dock lines to running the engine, corrosion maintenance or fixing a new leak, start at $250 a month.
ENGINE SURVEYS:
Includes in depth examination of engine and its parts, testing each for functionality and documenting in a written report.

Travel Charges:
Applied to each BAMS appointment and included in the hourly rate. When travel by car is more than one hour, travel time will be added and calculated based on time driven and hourly rate.
Parking & Toll Charges:
Actual fee: Any required parking and toll charges will be the responsibility of the client.
Emergencies:
After standard work hours, price is calculated a time and a half.
Other:
Custom projects - Priced on request. Phone consultation: $135/hr
Payment Schedule:
Hourly work: 50% due to schedule and begin work, 50% due upon completion.
Projects: 50% of fees are due before work begins; 25% is due at midpoint and balance due upon completion.
Parts, machinery, or any necessary purchases: Payment for any required parts or supplies will be the responsibility client and will be invoiced and paid in full before order is placed.
Terms & Conditions:
- Any invoices not paid upon completion of work are subject to interest.
- Any vessel in a yard must be paid in full before departing.
- First appointment will be confirmed upon receipt of 50% deposit.
- Final Balance due immediately upon completion of work.
- Any additional needed repairs will be reported to client with estimated cost before work is initiated.
- 24 hr. Cancelation fee of $50 will be applied to missed appointments.
- Prices subject to change without prior notice.
- Any vessel, engine or part not claimed as scheduled subject to storage fee.
- Our work is always guaranteed for 30 days.
Flat Charges
– Travel charge will be based on the distance from our Sausalito Office to your boat.
– Consumable supplies $5/hr. for one-time use items: zip ties, paper towels, garbage bags, etc.
– Administrative fees: 2.5% to help cover customer service and accounting fees and expenses.
– Moving and replacing furniture or belongings to access repair areas $135/hr.
– Protecting your yacht: furniture and walk-ways (We will be handling fluids which may stain your boat if not protected.) $135 including tarp and coverings.

Preparation Before BAMS Arrives

Projects such as bottom painting are performed for a pre-determined flat fee. However, it is still possible to have additional expenses added during a flat-fee job. These parts, services and fees would be in addition to a flat fee price.
All work is done on a time and materials basis unless otherwise noted in writing.

Disclaimer
BAMS does not accept responsibility for any equipment which is discovered to be faulty while vessel repair is taking place, or as a result of vessel repair. Any faulty equipment or breakage due to age or previous poor installation will be replaced or repaired at client’s expense. (eg. disintegrating or rusted parts or brittle fiberglass)
Guarantee
BAMS will endeavor to assist with any problems directly resulting from their BAMS repairs, up to 30 days after service. Cost of replacement parts will be the responsibility of the owner.
